Just the day before, Prof.Dany and myself were having a cuppa tea at the Air Force road shop, when we saw a lovli little pup playing with us, and going around here and there merrily.

All of a sudden, a guy from nowhere ( i presume he's mentally imbalanced) took this sweet little pup in his hands and hit it forcefully against the ground... The innocent little one started wailing and immediately a crowd of empathetic onlookers surrounded it. I didnt know it was the little puppy that was the object of attention, till i was enlightened about the whole incident very soon.

I got so annoyed that I rang up Bindu our vet, to ask for the no of a Vet Doc, but she was busy to attend the call then. Thank God, a Good Samaritan came in the form of a girl, who promptly took the puppy, whose stomach had by now grown soo big, in the impact, and took it to a VET.

The puppy's yearning eyes and its writhing in pain can never be realised by mankind. But still, it was praiseworthy that the guy was manhandled, roughed up and put inside the Police Jeep by a Cop in civil dress himself. I was happy that there was some sense of sympathy left in society.

But the question remains... Does our country have stringent laws to tackle cruelty to animals.. or is it that our laws lack teeth?
